I'm 10 months post op and I'm losing hair. I get plenty of Protein and take Biotin. I just noticed this 2 days ago as I was washing it and it was in the drain of the shower and then putting hair products in it. About 3 months into my journey I had a problem with my hair being very brittle and dry and breaking off, almost damaged, got that controlled and is now healthy again but is falling out now, OMG, what else is there to do besides protein and Biotin?

Some people swear by a Shampoo that you can get that contains nioxin but I've never tried it.

I am 4 months out and take Biotin since surgery. My doctor told me that 1/3 of women that get WLS will lose hair due to rapid weight loss. Last week I cut my long hair due to breakage and it falling out. It will grow back though!

I am on meds but not any new meds, have been on the same meds for a while. I know it will grow back, I'm not losing clumps, its just thinning and its noticeable (did I spell that right, lol) anyway, just when i got it healthy again, dang. Thanks everyone for your input. Haven't asked my stylist yet, that's my next step.

Talk to your dr. Mine gave me a Vitamin regimen that I took for three months. A different combination every two hours. My hair stopped falling out and I have new growth. You can only stay ogn it for three months. Now I just take my Calcium, multiple and I still take Biotin. The shampoos did not do anything for me.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
