Make sure you go from liquids to mushy before solids. Some times people need to move a little slower so make sure you listen to your body. :)

HOw was it? I go for my first fill next week and I'm a little nervous. Full-blown surgery? No problem. Injection in the office? I'm jumpy. Go figure! :)

My Dr. uses some "freezy spray" to numb the area before injection, so no pain.

Just back from my first fill. Piece of cake....ehm, that may not be the best example here, huh? NO pain, a LITTLE pressure, but quick and easy.

Now, let the games begin. . . .

I had an unfill 24 post op it was brutal because of the swelling she had trouble gaining access into the port, only to find out the dr that did the unfill was not the dr that did my surgery and was unaware that I had a hernia repair so the rock I was feeling stuck in my chest was due to that not Fluid in the band.

Well that wasn't so bad I didn't get any numbing cream but it went quick I was just wondering will I start to fill more of a restriction when I'm able to go back in solids in a couple days ?

I had my first fill last Friday and I am definitely full quicker. Lost 5 pounds over the weekend on liquids. Did mushies until dinner then had a taco salad with no problem. I am staying active walking and counting my calories to maximize my loss into summer.

I would sooo love to be in onederland by June.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
