Jun021068 87 Posted April 19, 2013 So I was scheduled for my 2nd fill today, The surgeon put in 2 cc on my band for a total of 7 cc (5cc on 1st fill). Everything looked good on flouro. I was driving home from this appointment and I decided to drink some Water. Oh boy!!! it didnt go down. I feel like the water stayed in my throat. Called the surgeon's office to let them know that I may be too tight. Drove back to the clinic and the surgeon took 1 cc and still too tight. He took another .25 cc and I still feel it's too tight but I decided to give it a try tonight. I will call them for another unfill tomorrow if it is still too tight. What a day!!! kll724 3,055 Posted April 19, 2013 Yes, it is a good idea to wait, because now you are swollen. However, if your surgeon's office is like mine, they don't charge if you have the fill removed within 72 hours. Bets wishes, try staying on Clear Liquids today. Summerrain 520 Posted April 19, 2013 Sorry you're going through this but this also proves that even if you get a fill under fluro it's not necessarily a good idea to have such a large fill in one go, everything can look fine at the time but eventually the swelling kicks in and that's why it's better to have much smaller fills to creep up to greenzone as you are closer to it. As I got closer to my greenzone it took four small fills to put in 1 cc over a month and then I hit the zone. Hopefully you settle down quickly.
Jun021068 87 Posted April 19, 2013 Thank you ladies. I am actually doing fine with the .75 cc at this time. I now have 5.75 cc in my 10 cc band. That was a little scary to say the least.
suzannetex 100 Posted April 20, 2013 About on my 3rd fill I got a big one. Water was hard to swallow. I stuck it out over the weekend and by Monday all was fine. Guess the band needed a few days to figure out how it wanted to work. Did great after that. Didn't have to go back for unfill. Was very glad. I'm getting there. I hope this next small fill will get me in the green zone Sent from my iPad using LapBandTalk
