Recommended Posts

I know they're just chickens, but they are so cute!!! The first one hatched Monday & the second one hatched Tuesday. I just wanted to share pics of the newest editions to the McCoy clan.

Jessie,

LOOK AT THAT!!! How cute. I love farm animals.

I would love to live on a farm. Have a BIG garden with lots of animals. Some people are SO lucky to have this opportunity.

My Anne keeps telling people that we're moving to the country and she's getting a horse (have NO idea where she gets these ideas).

You know, I just thought of something...

if I lived on a BIG farm and had lots of animals, I wouldnt have time for LBT?!?!

I think Ive just reconsidered country living.

You're welcome! They are so much fun to watch. Curious little boogers! We only have 3 acres right now. We hope to buy a small farm down the road from us in the future. Right now all we have are chickens. I would like a few cows, goats & rabbits. We'll see! Maybe one day. I'm country to the bone!! I was raised on a small farm. Lonnie comes from a long line of farmers. They lost everything in the 80s. He says he'll never do that kind of farming again. A hobby farm would be fun though. I guess I already have a start.

Yoda --- HA! I like baby chicks, but I love chickens, marinated and baked!!!

My Grandpa had a farm with chickens and cows and all. I had to feed the chickens a couple of times and the !#$!$^$# things would jump and peck me to get the food. So now I only like them on my plate.:heh:

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
