Need info about It Works! wraps

Recommended Posts

Good morning! I am wondering if any banders have tried the It Works! wraps to help lose fat and inches. I am almost 7 months post surgery and have lost nearly 60 pounds. I am looking into the It Works! wraps as an additional tool to help me meet my goals. If you know anything about using these with a band, please share!

well from what i understand, the wraps help you lose (Water weight) and not real inches/pounds lost

to lose weight you must eat less calories than you burn off..but if you like it, then use it....

As I understand it, the results are temporary. Just trust your band, follow doctors orders and you will be fine without the extra expense. IMHO

My doctor said you either will or will not have sagging skin. He never said but if you try the wraps. Mis made a really good post while ago about the wraps. Something like they have diruretics in them and they draw out a lot of Water. Hopefully she will reply to this post.

I would like to know more about these also, have friends who sell them and being inundated from acquaintances on Facebook. They swear it is not a temporary Water loss. Hope we have some people that know more than me. hugs

My guess is that this is like a "hillbilly lapband" it causes restriction and won't let your stomach expand beyond a certain level.

I cannot see the point of combining them though. You are already far more restricted with the band than what this could ever do.

Again, just my guess...

If you want to lose pounds and inches, why not just do it the legitimate way-cut your food intake and exercise more? You didn't have WLS as a quick fix so why waste your money on another gimmick?

I just don't get it...

Hillbilly lapband!!! That's hilarious. Lol. I've never tried them myself.... They seem to be getting really popular though.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
