Hey all!

Just got home from my 2nd fill. I am hoping this is going to give me some more restriction! I have lost 22lbs since surgery and 6lbs since my last fill a month ago. The hardest part is learning my body and trying to figure out when I need fills. The past week or two I could feel i could eat more and had actually gained a pound. I can't wait until I feel the green zone!! I would love to watch these lbs just fall off! lol. Thanks for listening!

First, congrats on the 6 lb loss. 6 lbs a month is about normal so if you can lose more than that it's just icing on the cake.

Most of us can always eat more, the band usually won't stop this. The band is supposed to make you feel satisfied sooner so you should be looking for satiety and not fullness. And, I've never felt the green zone and I don't think that feeling exists. The signs you should be looking for is being able to eat less because your band has decreased your appetite during a meal and you should not feel hunger for 4-5 hours after a meal.

Of course, we all have to deal with the head hunger/cravings, but the band won't make those go away entirely. The band can dim your cravings though.

Thanks for the insight! I was getting hungry more often. So hopefully this will help! :)

Make sure you're not eating processed foods, simple carbs, white flour or noodles. They're fine once in a while but try to keep to complex carbs that are low in glycemic value. The band works best if you're not eating slider foods. Eating your Proteins first will give more satiety. But you're doing great so far. I only lost 12 lbs the first 2 weeks and nothing for the next 3.5 months so I'm jealous.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
