Recommended Posts

No fills yet waiting for the 9th next month. Everything going fine. Some days hungry some not . Still walking 1 hour a day. 3 miles lost after surgery 47 pounds 10 before for a total of 57 pounds uhu:) the smells of the bakery still call me but I ignore it. Eat a banana or my yougurt Water and it will go away

You are definitely a role model.

Thanks!

I live in Houston and my pre-op started 2 weeks ago. I was on Protein Shakes twice a day then one healthy meal (4 oz. chicken, 1 cup veggies and 1 cup of fruit).

I am down 13.2 pounds pre-op. I go in tomorrow at 6:30 a.m. I sure appreciate all the "heads up". The gas (yuck), the staying hydrated, the walking, ect...

All the good little tid-bits. I will try to log in tomorrow and let ya'll know how surgery went. Thankfully, I'm not nervous.

That is the same diet I will be on only for 3 weeks. Was it difficult? Do you have any tips for getting through it?

Thank you,

Holly

Men! I bet he wouldn't stop for directions either. I guess that's why they invented GPS. At least you got cat naps. I agree that you should next time stop and get real sleep. Does the base offer storage for the things that won't fit? How long will you have to stay there? Starting new with everything is such a pain. New utilities to have turned on' date=' new deposits, new doctors, new banks. Ugh. I don't envy you.

Linda[/quote']

Yeah thank goodness for GPS or he probably would have got us lost too. The cat naps helped, but only lasted so long. No storage here on base, but we do have a garage so we are storing all our extra stuff there. Our lease is for 6 months and then we are hoping we can move to a 4 bedroom. Can't really live off the base since its so far. I'm hoping we will move to another base in 2-3 years. Trying to connect my direct TV here was such a pain that I canceled it. It had just been one thing after another. I just want everything to turn back to normal some what. The day we moved into our place I started daycare classes to open a daycare in my house. So I go to class all day and come home cook, clean, unpack until 3am and I'm back up at 5:50am. This weekend I finally caught up on sleep, but I'm still working on getting everything done and studying. I plan to take a few weeks off before I open my daycare to just get my life back in order and all my doctor appts out of the way.

Question: Would you have had all that energy before surgery? You have my utmost admiration for what you've accomplished. Today, I woke up at 10:00. No energy. I'm tired all the time. I can't imagine me doing all you do.

Tawnya we haven't heard from you. Updates please.. My update just had my first fill. Now 2 days of Clear Liquids then 2 days full liquids then 2 days mushi then back to my regular diet. I do booth camp with a personal trainer from herbalife twice a week for free. Then I walk the park 3 or 4 days a week I do eat out the doctor gave me the Restaurant Card where you can order from kids menu I use it sometimes or I'll order steamed or grilled no sauce meats and veggies and a to go container upfront and I pack half of the meal so I won't be tempted to over eat. The servers look at me wierd specially when I say nothing to drink and they bring Water and I make them take it back. So now I warn them nothing to drink not even water nothing. For me the light and fit Greek yougurt tastes the best and has less calories. The frozen Greek yougurt Yasso tastes Devine helps the urge to eat sweets

I pack. My own luch so I won't be tempted at the bakery or deli. Fruits my yougurt my milk also my veggie and egg whites frittatas also my matcha green tea so I make my own green tea lattes cause Starbucks its pricy for me to buy everyday. And I make my own Breakfast Protein Shakes cause I can't eat breakfast early never could. Since I work at 530 am I take my shake with me so I drink it around 6 or 7 then a snack around 9 or 10 lunch around 12 snack around 2 or 3 dinner at 5 or 6 around 8 my Yasso frozen Greek yougurt. And it's still around 1000 calories sometimes less. My Snacks are yougurt or banana peaches no skin apples pealed dragon fruit my frittatas are lunch more snacks papaya guava 1 weather tost with walden farm jelly. Walden Farms has all kind of mayo and dressings 0 calories . I still take my Vitamins and my Proteinex . Carnation non fat powder milk with my shakes or lattes sometimes oatmeal or cream of wheat if I eat out ask for my omelette with egg whites. Well you get the idea ok waiting to hear from you. On my weigh I lost total of 63. From size 18/20 to 8/10 from 3&2xl to m some s some l or xl but juniors

Its so good to hear from you. Seems like you're getting closer to goal. Boot camp sounds tough. I like the ordering from the kids menu and halving it. I don't eat out at all right now, but my Amy and I will probably after surgery.

I'm so proud of where you've come from and where you are now! Keep going!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
