m1aman 944 Posted April 17, 2013 10 pounds in less than a month sounds pretty good to me. What did you expect? 4 kazjim98, DELETE THIS ACCOUNT!, ☠carolinagirl☠ and 1 other reacted to this
catfish87 3,471 Posted April 17, 2013 Perfectly normal...or maybe even above average! Without fills, its just a diet. 10#'s in a little over three weeks....that'd be on track for over 150#'s a year. Think of this weightloss for the long term....not a week or two. This is a lifestyle change. Congrats and hang in there! 5 gg83, 2muchfun, DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! and 2 others reacted to this
gg83 74 Posted April 17, 2013 Ten pounds sounds great to me! You don't want to lose weight to fast.. That is unhealthy.. Remember gradual weight loss is the best in helping you keep it off! Good luck to you! I have my first adjustment May 9th as well!! 2 Draven and ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
babykins529 189 Posted April 17, 2013 "Normal" for everyone is different. As long as you are following the guidelines established by your doctor then there is nothing to fear. I've read on this forum of bandsters not losing anything for months after being banded, then one day a switch is flipped and their body just starts losing weight. Others lost a bunch of weight preop but nothing postop. Then there are those who are just steadily losing. I went two weeks without losing a pound. Nothing in my routine or diet changed, but I was put on steroids for tendonitis and then I had bacterial bronchitis and was sick so as soon as all that all cleared up I dropped 4 pounds in 3 days. Your body is an extremely complicated system. 3 DELETE THIS ACCOUNT!, ☠carolinagirl☠ and Draven reacted to this
hely88 883 Posted April 17, 2013 You are doing great! Don't forget a lot of that time was healing and a lot of peope dont lose as much during this period. Just make sure that you keep to your guidelines measure and track all of our food. You might want to also arrange to see an nutritionist. Hang in there. 3 2muchfun, DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! and ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
Draven 188 Posted April 17, 2013 You are doing fantastic!!! 10 pounds in three weeks?? over 3 lbs. a week!! You can't hope to do better. I understand what you are thinking. For the most part we've all been there. It will come off if you do the right things. And 10 lbs. in three weeks certainly seems like you are already doing the right things. Best of luck!!!! Keep your head up. 3 ☠carolinagirl☠, DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! and babykins529 reacted to this

Kime-lou 648 Posted April 17, 2013 There is no normal with this "darn" thing. I think we all have days we feel like failures. I am 9 months out and 54 lbs smaller, but still at times feel like a failure, because I read about others who have lost more in that time period who were the same starting size as me. From what the pros (docs and NUT) tell me, everyone reacts differently to the band and the band life. Some lose quickly to begin with then slow down a lot (this is me). Some loose slow at the start, but then pick up to a steady pace. My doc said as long as I was following the rules then that was all I could do, it was up to my body to do there rest and to just be patient. I know being patient is easier said than done, but what else can we do? 4 jcrisp0407, catfish87, ☠carolinagirl☠ and 1 other reacted to this
☠carolinagirl☠ 18,721 Posted April 17, 2013 I have been banded since march 25, 2013 and I have only lost 10 pounds I'm going in for my first fill may 9....is it normal??? yes and no it seems you are losing at your pace so what if me or whomever loses more you just keep doing what you are doing as it is working... ps: i am living proof that you do not have to have a fill to lose weight...i am not on a diet, but i just let the band help me eat less with me making better choices of food. (i guess i am a lucky one who got restriction alone w/band and plication). so hang in there 3 kazjim98, catfish87 and melodyj730 reacted to this
