Third day of preop diet

I was SO hungry on Monday- I came so close to stopping at McDonalds for a hamburger on my way home- I sat in the car and argued with myself about it- and finally I drove away :) I felt like I had really overcome something- but still had real doubts as to whether I could do this in the long run. Yesterday was better- I was a little bit hungry, but it was tolerable. I didn’t have the urges to stop and grab something to eat that I wasn’t supposed to. Today is the third day and it is lunch time. I really could have waited awhile until I had my shake if I wanted to. I still have my Protein Bar that has been gone by 10am the last two days. I’m actually feeling like I can do this!! For those of you that have not started this phase yet- know it gets better!!

If you get hungry like that, you should be able to have a low sodium broth like chicken or beef broth. You can also have sugar free popsicles like fudge bars. At least I was told by my surgeon it was ok. Just think of the long term outcome you will gain by sticking to it. A healthier, happier, newer you! :)

I have to go tomorrow for some tests an a class- I will ask about the broth. It did say I could have sugar free popsicles, but I wasn't aware that inluded fudgesicles (My FAVORITE!!!! :) I thought it just meant the fruit flavored ones. I went to my local grocery store last night and they din't have anysugar free fruit ones. I am SO stopping tonight to see if I can find some- now I know I can look for fuge bars too :)!!!!

      Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

        Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

        Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
