So I was banded 3/1/13, down about 21 lbs so far. But, I went for my 1st fill on 4/5 and my MD could fill but not aspirate. So he thought my tubing was kinked. Which in fact, it was as confirmed by x-ray. He couldn't manipulate it to unkink so now I have to go back for surgery again. He says he's only seen this happen 3 times so far. Has anyone heard of this? I'm disappointed because I am behind schedule now for filling, and I have not quite 2ccs fill, which is like nothing!

It happened to me....however in my case, my port is right under the skin, and you can clearly see the port and tubing. So between the 2 of us, we were able to "unkink" it....

one worked the syringe and the other massaged the tubing....

Thank you! It's just so frustrating because I'm behind for my first fill. I feel like I should be doing much better than down about 20 lbs.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
