I don't really lose lately on the scale but do lose inches.
grownazzkid 206 Posted April 15, 2013 (edited) I personally do not recommend weighing yourself daily. I only weigh myself every 2 weeks when I go into clinic. That is it. If you do want to weigh yourself daily do not react to large swings. Track it and look for trends over a 5-7 day span. ♕ajtexas♕ 3,771 Posted April 15, 2013 You were banded 6 days ago. PUT THE scale AWAY!!!!! Your body is healing, it's swollen, full of fluids & gas..... the scale is not going to be your friend right now. I would suggest you stay away from the scale for a couple of weeks, get through your post-op diets and let your body heal. You will see results soon! 8 hely88, SeaSounders♥, 2muchfun and 5 others reacted to this
Jim1967 3,569 Posted April 15, 2013 Stepping on a scale at this point is like asking for torture. Things are going to yoyo big time because of the trauma of surgery. Scale is going to play games. You may also have that false sense of restriction which could be because of the swelling. Very early stages... 4 ♕ajtexas♕, SeaSounders♥, CHEZNOEL and 1 other reacted to this
Terry Poperszky 2,784 Posted April 15, 2013 If you are going to weight daily (which I do), keep this in mind. 1 pound of fat is about 3500 calories, so as the scale fluctuates (which it will), keep in that in mind. Did you eat over 10K calories yesterday? No? Than the gain is Fluid (water), and will eventually go away. Yes? You are an idiot and you need counseling. Some things that will cause Water retention are: 1. Sodium, I couldn't believe how much salt I was taking in my processed foods until I started tracking it. A plate of food from a Chinese restaurant is good for at least 5 pounds of Water for me. 2. Heavy exercise, my body retains water to help build new muscle and repair the old. A really good workout is good for a couple of pounds of water retention the next day. 3. TOM, although as a male, my TOM is probably lighter than yours my wife tells me hers is good for 5 pounds of water weight each month. 4. Your body is just screwing with you. Sometimes for whatever reason my body retains water. Believe it or not, the best way to get rid of that extra water is to drink more. The more you drink (within reason), the less reason your body has to retain, the more toxins and sodium is flushed out. If you can't deal with the fluctuations, then you need to stay away from the scale for now. 9 jbandster, gowalking, Jim1967 and 6 others reacted to this

Terry Poperszky 2,784 Posted April 15, 2013 Please make this the template for this question in the future? I really think we need to build a FAQ with some of these questions and answer. 5 Redesigned_Curves, ☠carolinagirl☠, 2muchfun and 2 others reacted to this
CHEZNOEL 4,061 Posted April 15, 2013 I agree, some FAQ would be helpful, but we all know no one would read them. And it is so much fun to read the answers over and over again! 5 ☠carolinagirl☠, Terry Poperszky, ♕ajtexas♕ and 2 others reacted to this
