Hmmm.......designer ibuprofen... I'd like to know what it's cut with, that reduces the negative effects. What is it called? I may need to request some to keep in my arsenal :-)

my dr. says it's the pill ibuprofen thats the problem he doesnt have a problem with liquid ibuprofen. pills (if getting caught up on the band) can cause problems like mentioned above but the liquid has no problem getting through. better safe than sorry I guess. good luck with the coffee issue :) I can have mine, it's funny how different dr's are!

My Dr. believes the irritation/erosion occurs because the big pill sits up in the stoma.

I'm going to ask my doctor about liquid ibuprofen. But even still, it makes its way into the stomach, and is processed there. With this plication, maybe the rule is a little different. As much as I THOUGHT I learned prior, there are still things I'm learning as I go along. And YES, all the doctors certainly have their own take on this

I made the switch to Decaf and use sugar free Creamer. Still has calories, but I use less creamer than I ever did before and just sweeten it up a bit with a packet of Splenda. Just like heaven! Mmmm mmmmm!

I use a small amount of plain Coffeemate powder & Splenda. I know the creamer is like death powder, but I love it! I don't even like the real thing; not as good.

My doctor never even asked if I smoke? I guess cigarettes hurt the band?

Yes, they say smoking is killer for the band and bypass. Not sure about the sleeve.

I wonder if electronic cigarettes are bad too? I am an occasional smoker, but I prefer the electronic kind.

I don't know anything about them, other than one of my clients employees was smoking one. But I think the whole point of those is no smoke and nicotine? If that's it, I can't imagine that they would be a problem.

I am sorry but it is true! This smoking thing is HARD for me!! I have gum lifesavers and butterscotch (candy not the other) on my desk and then I see this some one being told NO COFFEE! It is more then a gal can stand on a MONDY!

Have you tried e-cigs? That might be a way to help you. I stopped smoking when I had my tonsils out and used an e-cig for about 6 months or so. It really helped. I can't say the craving is gone, but it's been over 4 years and still smoke free. Hugs!!! We are here for you Hun.

Nicotine slows the healing process. I would be very Leary of a doctor that did not address this. The doctors here make it clear you are not a good candidate for this surgery of you smoke

Ya, they are smokeless but still have nicotine. I guess I need to just quit altogether. I know I am just smoking because I am using it as a crutch for not eating as much. I can't wait to get some fills to have a satisfied feeling for my hunger!
