question for the ladies

Recommended Posts

hi everyone. i am not new to this sight ive been reading it in silence since before my surgery that was February 15th of 2013. since I surgery I've lost a total of 24 pounds and I've recently had my 3rd fill. I'm not at my green zone yet but I definitely am getting closer to it. this has been an exciting journey so far in and excited to reach my goal weight. however I do have one question for the ladies sorry gentlemen but I do need to ask this question, has this affected your menstral cycle? my surgery that was in February I've had my menstrual cycle once and I haven't had it since. my doctor told me that my body is probably going through some stress with the surgery. but I didn't know if this was common and most women. thank you hope someone can help.

I had surgery March 19th and I have also missed my cycle which before was like clockwork.

It did for sure. I was very irregular for the first year after surgery. I would have a period, then nothing for 8 weeks, have another period then have yet another 2 weeks later. I gave up trying to track them at all because they just came so randomly.

My gynecologist said weight loss, especially rapid weight loss, can really play havoc with a woman's hormones.

I went on the pill about 6 months ago and now they are very regular again.

okay thank you so much I feel a little better now that I'm not the only one out there this little issue. frustrating because I get all the symptoms I'm going to start but nothing. I guess my doctor said that there's a pill that I can take if I don't get it by the next visit that supposed to regulate my cycles

My tom is very different now. My band is so tight around that time I have to do liquids or mushies. I also get awful pain in my back. I would suggest you keep record of when you have it and how it affects you. Also your age can also play a part. I am 46 and my GYN said its normal for them to vary more now.
