Terry Poperszky 2,784 Posted April 12, 2013 But I just did 17 miles at 14.9 Mph. Not bad for the second ride of the season. Oh, Catfish. My wife looked at your picture and said that you may ride farther, but I look better in spandex. 10 mrsto, hely88, dylanmiles23 and 7 others reacted to this

And I thought I was paying a lot for running shoes every 4-6 months..... Yea, you can get a deal on one by waiting until the off season, but they still can be expensive. A decent aluminum with a carbon fork (What I have) for can be had for 1500.00, for a decent carbon Fiber bike expect to spend 3-5. That isn't top end, that is entry for those levels. On the other hand, the review on my bike stated that it was stable at 50+ mph, and yes on a good downhill, if I were stupid enough it will easily hit 50+. I bought a Giant Defy 1, which is a aluminum/carbon high end entry, it was the previous years model and I got a great discount because I bought it going into winter. With care, it will probably last me a lifetime. Then there are the weight weenies, who will spend 10-12 for a bike that weighs 11 pounds. 1 catfish87 reacted to this
B-52 7,113 Posted April 13, 2013 My nieces husband is a fanatic, competes all over the country for $$ and his team has a big sponsor....he has a few different bikes depending upon the event.... She told me she paid about 4k for the one she was on that day, and it was not her "good" bike...it was one they built from spare parts.... Me...I still have my Pee Wee Herman bike in the garage collecting dust...... 1 catfish87 reacted to this
