Frederic 500 Posted April 12, 2013 Well I had my first "slime" episode this afternoon and I now understand what people meant when they said it wasn't like vomiting. The upside was that the novelty of the sensation helped me forget about the stuck feeling immediately beforehand. I can say that stuck episode was the most unpleasant experience I can recall in recent years nearly bringing me to tears. The frustrating thing is I can't clearly figure out what caused it. The material that came up with the slime was indistinguishable and I hadn't been trying anything I hadn't tried before. I can only assume the broccoli wasn't as done as I thought. DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! 12,703 Posted April 12, 2013 Unfortunately, sometimes the band is more finicky than others. You can prepare and eat a certain food the exact same way 100 times and on the 101st time your band decides it's not going to work today. I haven't slimed in a long time but I'll never forget how it feels. Totally gross lol. Hang in there, you're doing great 1 catfish87 reacted to this
2muchfun 8,927 Posted April 12, 2013 I had problems this morning too. Watermelon got stuck. Go figger. I guess I missed one little hunk of melon that slid behind my tongue and made it's escape just to clog me up Well, now ya know. No fun is it? It's awful if you're at someone's house and it happens? Or, out for dinner. Makes you pay closer attention though. tmf 2 TEAM SASHA PINK and elcee reacted to this

2muchfun 8,927 Posted April 12, 2013 You guys are scarring me! I'm almost 3 weeks post op and will be so afraid of getting stuck! Well, then you better learn to eat very small and chew very big if you don't want to get stuck. But, the reality is, you probably will get stuck at some time if your band is adjusted properly. There are some lucky ones who managed to lose a lot of weight with no or few fills so they don't have the restriction that some of us have. I'd like to think these patients have a very sensitive vagus nerve that doesn't need a lot of stimulation to give them the satiety feeling that seems so fleeting for many of us. For me, it's no big deal. It's uncomfortable and inconvenient, but it's also a sign your band may be near or at the ideal fill level. tmf 2 DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! and catfish87 reacted to this
Frederic 500 Posted April 12, 2013 You guys are scarring me! I'm almost 3 weeks post op and will be so afraid of getting stuck! You shouldn't be scared but you should be prepared. As miserable as it feels getting stuck you do survive and... A) you learn to be more careful next time And you know your done eating at that meal. 4 elcee, DELETE THIS ACCOUNT!, 2muchfun and 1 other reacted to this
balbuquerque 85 Posted April 12, 2013 It sounds so unpleasant and scary. I'm 22 days post op and I have a good heart not to get any fills so long as I continue to loose weight.
