jbandster 37 Posted April 12, 2013 I have my first fill scheduled for April 19th. I know that after the fill, I will have to go back to liquids for a few days....but can I eat before my fill?
DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! 12,703 Posted April 12, 2013 I would call your doctor's office and ask. They all seem to have their own rules. I personally don't eat for a couple hours before fills but I know others who eat before them. It all depends on what your doctor advises. 2 jbandster and MASSGUY reacted to this
Julie121212 58 Posted April 12, 2013 I found that if I eat right before a fill the dr is more hesitant to add as much Fluid in the fill. If my stomach is fuller then the band seems tighter and he thinks I am closer to my green zone than I think I am (does that make sense?). So personally, my dr has never told me to eat or not eat before a fill but I think he will get a better, more accurate reading on where my band sits if I am hungrier. 1 jbandster reacted to this

My dr also says no solids for 2 hrs before, but I don't eat at all the day of a fill for just this reason. Seems to be more accurate (at least to me, who's not an MD!) on the fill level...Good luck!
