Low carb, high protein MUSHY foods?

Recommended Posts

Any ideas for the mushies stage that are low carb, high Protein would be greatly appreciated. I don't do seafood aside from occassional tuna salad so I'm looking for other options.

Thanks for your help!!

Really anything you can put through the blender and make baby food consistency is good.

chicken salad, ham salad, egg salad. Just put them through the blender first.

Or chili with a little cream cheese mixed in, put through the blender.

Cream Soups with cottage cheese or plain yogurt blended into it.

Ohhh love the chili idea. I used to make a dip with chili and cream cheese. So I know I would enjoy this! I also enjoy egg salad and chicken salad....the chicken salad I am not sure I have had it "mushy" enough but I guess its worth a try! :) Thanks for the ideas!!!

I actually eat a non-mushy version of the chili all the time. I take 98% fat free turkey chili with Beans and low fat cream cream cheese and mix them together. Then I sprinkle some low fat shredded colby jack cheese over the top and heat it up. It's SO good. It's just like this chip dip I used I make all the time only without the chips and fat.

canned chicken and tuna have been my best friends! I liked to take a box of Green Giant veggies and lite sauce (divided by 2...1/2 cup servings) and then 2-3 oz of canned chicken or tuna.

I also bought some Soups with beef, chicken, etc. dumped the Water and grinded those as well for a quick and easy lunch.

Egg beaters, cottage cheese, greek yogurt, and fat free refried Beans are now staples as well.

Good luck =)

I'm in the mushies stage right now. My favorite is low fat refried Beans with some enchilada sauce on top and some sour cream on the side. It's so good :)

I just had 1/2 cup of chili with no Beans and added a table spoon of cream cheese. It was fabulous after being on pure liquids for a week :)

I liked fat free refried Beans, topped with a little bit of salsa, and then sprinkled with a pinch of fat free cheddar cheese.< /p>

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
