first fill in the morning!!!

Recommended Posts

I am so excited, tomorrow morning I will get my first fill! I have been so hungry lately. My doctor reassured me that the reason I'm starving is because I'm healing well. That was a relief! I feel like tomorrow this actually starts and I am so excited. I just wanted to share! Hope everyone is doing great!!

Have my post-op appointment and hopefully my first fill today. I'm scared to death about this, but know I need it because I'm about to chew off my arm :)

I had my post op visit two weeks ago and my dr. said I was to swolen still. So he said three weeks and we should be good to go. So I have a week to go and then should get my first fill. Do you notice it right away? The restriction.....when you start to eat solids again? I have been told that you have to only consume full fluids for two days post fill. How has it been for any of you after your fills? Hopeful that in a week I will start to feel restriction!!

I did not notice right away, my doctor said most people don't see a huge change with the first fill. He was right. I was on liquids the day of my fill then back to my normal diet the day after. But it depends on what your doctor tells you. This is only my first fill and I go back in 3 weeks for another, I have to say I am anxious for my 2nd one. I think that will do the trick. Good luck!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
