kbell2011 131 Posted April 10, 2013 Sooooo, here I am only 8 days from surgery and I have to see a Hematologist! On my original appointment with True Results, it was elevated. (This was the only thing negative about my History and Physical) So, they now require clearance from my regular doc. Go there last week and it was less, but still elevated. Went again this week to repeat and it stayed the same at 13. Now, tomorrow, I go to this Hematologist. PLEASE say a prayer for me that 1. It's nothing to worth about. & 2. My surgery date doesn't get postponed! TIA!! 2 laky and dylanmiles23 reacted to this

Lose100 178 Posted April 10, 2013 Your elevated level may have not been discovered if it wasn't for your pre surgery blood work. I pray that all goes well for you.
OnMyWay2Thin 45 Posted April 11, 2013 Have faith that everything will work out just fine. They probably just want to be absolutely sure that everything is perfect for you when you have your surgery. I hope it goes smoothly, but keep in mind, if you have to wait to make sure everything is okay, it's worth the wait (and it will be that much sweeter when it takes place.) Good luck, hope everything is okay!
hely88 883 Posted April 11, 2013 Do you take meds? I take a med that causes my white blood count to be a little high. They actually tracked it for a while a few years ago. On my most recent blood work came back a little high still.
kbell2011 131 Posted April 11, 2013 Thank you all for your support! I have an appointment this afternoon and will update when I know more. I have complete faith that all will be a-ok!
nicolelmartinez 52 Posted April 11, 2013 I always have a high white count. It's always a pain when I have to have surgery because my white count comes back high and doctors freak out. Nothing is wrong with me, had it all checked out but it's always elevated, around 12,000. Inflammation plays a part in that.
kbell2011 131 Posted April 12, 2013 Here is the latest: I went to the Hematologist today. The four CBCs have shown my WBC as 14.6, 13, 13.1, and now today back up to almost 14. So, they did a urine test- came back normal. They took 6 vials of blood and a chest X-ray. I've had to reschedule my lap band procedure and will get results of all the blood tests on the 23rd. Worried but hopeful. Until then, I will continue the pre-op diet and pray that everything is good to go come the 23rd. Thanks again for the responses...
