I love salad. Thankfully I am still able to eat it with my lap band. I love love love balsamic vinegar. I use olive oil, just a little. It's so damn high in calories, so I am wondering how I can minimize the calories by using something else. Anyone have any suggestions?

I eat salad almost every day but I have never had dressing in my life. I know-I am weird. But have you tried spraying the salad. In a suburb of Boston there is a very famous steak house, Ken's and they are famous for their salads and they are sprayed. A salad maker told my MIL years ago. They sell the spray bottles but it is most likely cheaper to get your own bottle and spray.

Dont they have olive oil in a spray can or lite oo? I've never used it so i don't know how many calories but it has to be less then pouring.

Your body actually absorbs the nutrients in a salad better if it contains some fat. just don't overdo the oil - a spray is a great idea

I LOVE Kens Steakhouse creamy caesar dressing. Didn't know it was actually a restaurant. You can't put salad dressing in a regular sprayer, you have to buy one of the olive oil sprayers (about $20 at target) and put any dressing in there. Personally, I think the ones that come in the sprayers on the grocery shelf are gross. I would buy an olive oil sprayer and spray it on, if you're looking to cut calories. Or just dip you fork tines in the dressing first before stabbing the salad. Thats what I do. You get a taste of the dressing but not many calories.

Ken's Steak House is very old and elegant style but people now go in jeans. They offer all you can eat salad that is sprayed with their Italian dressing. My MIL thinks the restaurants dressings are better than the bottled. I guess different factory. They have wonderful onion rolls, I never tasted one-maybe 3-4. I use their lite Cesaer to marinade everything.

i love the ken's lite balsamic vinaigrette. i tip the bottle and pour out as much of the oil as i can. don't know why with the lite dressings the makers always put so much in them. but it's yummy and then i add just a little sprinkle of splenda.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
