sunnydove 4 Posted April 10, 2013 My insurance (BCBSM) said covers lap band, but have to have BMI of 35 with a comorbidity (sp).... My BMI is right about 33... Should I discuss with a lap band dr or just forget about it? 1 Lose100 reacted to this
kileybug34 173 Posted April 10, 2013 Well, there is always hope. I don't guess it would hurt anything. I think the insurance will deny it though with that BMI. Fingers crossed for you.
2muchfun 8,927 Posted April 10, 2013 You need to shrink an inch or gain 10 lbs. Don't be vain and cling to an exagerrated height? Not saying you are, but I've seen some folks with similar BMI problems who might qualify if they gained weight or lost an inch in height? Check it out? And the list of co-morbids is a long one. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/topic/76220-list-of-comorbidities-please-add/ 1 tarajill reacted to this

utkscvol1 125 Posted April 10, 2013 I swore for years I was 5'8 but when I went to my consult I was 5'6- that was enough to get my Bmi up there 1 2muchfun reacted to this
Cazzy 725 Posted April 10, 2013 make sure u weigh in with heavy jeans on, lots of change in the pockets and anything else to add the weight .. if u are desperate, Water weight too helps, load up on salt and water the night before like they have done on biggest loser. To be honest make sure u think this surgery is the only answer left for you 1 2muchfun reacted to this

I know I wear my lightest shoes, wear lightweight shorts and t-shirt. I hold off on drinking any water 2 hours before I go in so that scale is as low as it can be? tmf 3 Bubie1916, Lose100 and Cazzy reacted to this
