str1349 37 Posted April 9, 2013 my doc has a book out "skinny jeans at last" and one point made about eating was to use smaller or different utensils!. i have small kiddos - so having toddler forks, spoons, and plates and bowls are not a problem. i also read about using chopsticks to help slooooow down when you eat. and, IT WORKS. at least it does for me. i bought some online and i eat alot of my food with chopsticks now. from salad, to tuna salad, to meat and veggies!! i'd love to hear what or how you eat to ensure success!! thanks ya'll (i'm from Texas) lol 1 dylanmiles23 reacted to this
Melissa76tx 22 Posted April 9, 2013 I use the smaller utensils, plates, bowls and that definitely helps me keep my portions in check. I have never thought of using chopsticks, but I think it is a great idea...will have to try that soon. I'm in Texas too..lol..so I understood your "foreign language" 1 cindya reacted to this

Tiny1234 121 Posted April 9, 2013 Chopsticks? What an excellent idea! I'll be all thumbs but this will be a fun way to learn how to use chopsticks as well as having to take smaller bites, which is the hardest thing I've had to learn with the lapband. koolkel 80 Posted April 9, 2013 I love chopsticks!! I even manage to eat yogurt with them( VERY SLOWLY!) The only downside is when picking up a large piece of something, I have to consciously remind myself to take a small bite...
lellow 1,713 Posted April 10, 2013 I'm asian so I can eat as quickly with chopsticks as with a fork lol. One thing that worked really well for me (and still does) for those who don't weigh and count everything, was before I got to the green zone, I used to split my food portion in half, and put one half in the fridge. I'd eat my allocated portion, then if in 30 mins I was still hungry, I'd go back to eat the 2nd portion. I actually only ever went back once in all the time I've done that. And my mind was nicely fooled into thinking I wouldn't have to go hungry if I didn't want to, and yet by the time the 30 mins was up, I wasn't actually hungry anymore anyway!
