tarajill 63 Posted April 9, 2013 Have you considered a flexible spending account? That could help cover some of the costs.
blondegal_ 1,028 Posted April 9, 2013 You can try Lending Club. There is a credit check but then people decide to fund your loan or not. And you can explain your situation so say you have a low credit score because of spouse or something you can explain that.

KAATNS 1,473 Posted April 10, 2013 I think a bank would have better terms than CareCredit.

I work as a lender @ a local bank in my hometown. Most banks will finance medical needs based in your credit score & collateral. You will definitely get better terms & rates. I was also self pay & did mine through a 0% credit card. This offer is only good for 12 months. I have decided if I don't have it paid off before then I will do a loan through my bank:) good luck!!! Bank wouldn't either because I had a bankruptcy.
mzjay 30 Posted April 10, 2013 I went to a few places as well as true results they only finance 5500 at my location so i would have to come up with the rest but i dont want to finance from two different lenders thats more money...i wish i could find a place that did 100% financing inhouse lol that would be too perfect... Do you have private insurance? I ask because the majority of us that are obese have a hiatal hernia and they can repair that the same as doing the lap band which covers the remainder???. mzjay 30 Posted April 11, 2013 How do i find out if i have the hernia?...
TaraKaye 44 Posted April 12, 2013 How do i find out if i have the hernia?... I went thru True Results and they set up the test to find it. Mine wasn't very big but enough. The procedure to find out the put you out and they put a camera down your throat. You may want to contact True Result and speak with a patient advocate. They will ask if you have heart burn. I had some but not a lot.
tammy neves 0 Posted April 16, 2013 I to was turned down by care credit and it was devastating to me. I worked a part time job for 6 months to help pay down credit cards--then applied randomly online with Wells Fargo and was shocked that I was approved!! Don't give up, there is a way to make it happen! We are worth this. It's a gamble though now that I did it and read others stories about slipped bands, erosions ect I worry. My Insurance won't pay for anything related to this surgery
mzjay 30 Posted April 17, 2013 What kind of loan did you apply for? Honestly since I am going selfpay i am thinking about VSG or Plication something with less follow up doctor visits
girl55 5 Posted April 17, 2013 I was self pay. My insurance would not pay. I put mine on a credit card. It was a special offer with 12 to 18 months to pay without interest. It was better than going thru a bank.
