HELP!! Sabotaging Myself With Booze!!!

Recommended Posts

True, true. But let me tell you, pre-band I had a tolerance like nobody's business. I could drink 4, 6, 8 drinks. And these are drinks where I knew the bartender. I could drink more than any of my friends, etc.

Post-band... 1) You never want to vomit. 2) After losing 60 lbs, it doesn't take as much to get you drink. 3) Eating 1000 calories a day as opposed to 5000, it doesn't take as much to get you drunk.

Be prepared to see your tolerance (and bar tab!) go down. Its exciting.

That means instead of 8 shots of tequila at 69 calories per shot you are doing 3 shots of tequila at 69 calories per shot. :) That is great.

I am over 50 pounds down, and consuming about 700 calories (maybe) per day. never did the 5000 calorie a day thing, but I would love to see my tolerance go down. Haven't seen a tab in over 3 years, so I am lucky in that respect. :P

LOL I am a big supporter of partying purely because people who do it right do not become alcoholic (please stop pm'img me) they have a good time, if there is a dance floor you usually workoff the calories you have taken in, and man is it a stress reliever LOL I know working inside my home with a 3year old and a 4 yearold running around, and watching reruns of spongebob and dora and oswald and yakkity yak I need a lot of drinks by the time saturday night rolls around. LOL It is the only time i get to talk to an adult and do not have to say phrases like "please make sure you wipe your butt after you go potty this time". At least not too often LOL

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
