Hi All,

Banded last August (2012) and loving it. Came home late and hungery tonight. Hubbie had cooked dinner. I decided just to have some of his chicken so I grabbed a small thigh. I ate it too fast, and for the last 90 minutes have been pb-ing and vomiting. I've never had an issue before so I don't know how long this should keep going on. I'm puking up mostly mucus, and very little chicken- I think 99% of the chicken came up. Any suggestions? Is there anything I can do to help settle things down? Thanks!

Try really hard to walk around. I find that really helps me. Dont be to hard on yourself. Live and learn. Stay strong!!

I would go back to liquids for the next 24 hours, it helps when you have irritated your band.

Guzzle a fizzy drink - it can work like a drain cleaner. I have never tried it but have heard it works. NB. Only do close to a toilet as it should make everything come back up.

Suck crushed ice. It helps to reduce swelling so can help to eventually move the object. You have to be patient . It does not work straight away.

Some people swear by pineapple juice, others by papaya enzymes. Neither have worked for me.

Stick a toothbrush down your throat and see if you can bring the rest of the stuck object back up.

I've done the same thing, eating too quickly, but my symptoms have never lasted more than a 10-15 minutes. I agree with the stick to liquids for the next day or so suggestion. Good luck, I hope you feel better soon.
