Banded January 9, 2013

Recommended Posts

Went for my 3rd fill on Wednesday and was told I lost 13 lbs since last month. My doctor said I lost more than was expected which was 3-7 lbs. She said I really didn't need a fill but she was going to put .3 ccs in my band. The month before I only list 4 lbs. Doing the same exercises eating the same foods. Confused as to why I lost so much more the next month. Any ideas?

Could have been any number of reasons, Water weight, a bit of a plateau, metabolism change.... just be happy for such a nice loss and keep on keeping on. As far as needing or not needing a fill...it's still about whether or not you are satisfied on the amount of food you are supposed to eat. If you are, no fill needed...if not, then you should have a fill. I'm surprised the doctor said you did not need a fill based on your weight loss. It's not about weight loss, it's about satiety.

Thanks, it just gets so confusing at times. I just don't won't to fail. Seeing all if the success stories keeps me motivated. We are all in this together. Thanks for the support and you all are doing great.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
