chas1112 12 Posted April 5, 2013 I got my lapband done 9 days ago an I just can't get myself motivated. I'm tired all the time . Does anyone have this problem?
DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! 12,703 Posted April 5, 2013 You just had surgery. Your body needs time to heal. It will likely take 4-6 weeks before you feel normal and have your energy levels back. 1 hely88 reacted to this

Spaness2012 609 Posted April 5, 2013 Yes...4 to 6 weeks for me as well. The lethargy made me a bit nervous during this time but like clockwork...once I hit 5 weeks...I had mad energy. Be good to yourself......give your body some time to heal.
koolkel 80 Posted April 5, 2013 Yes!! Anesthesia kicks my BUTT!! I still struggle to stay awake past 10pm( and I was a big night owl before!) Also I went from 5 cups of coffee a day to only one. It takes our bodies a few weeks to figure out this new deal--- hang in there and rest when you can!

mrsto 2,925 Posted April 5, 2013 I've been SO tired since my surgery 12 days ago. Today I'm better than before, but still dragging. I've had surgery before, and don't remember being laid out quite like this. Only thing I can think of, is that I was under anesthesia for a longer time than the other surgeries. koolkel 80 Posted April 5, 2013 I think ones body goes into a sort of shock after anesthesia. Add to that the limited calories you are taking in. I tried to return to work after one week but I was too tired and foggy. Two weeks was better. I'm six weeks or so out now and I'm gaining energy every day! Also, once you are cleared to resume exercise-- do it!! It helps boost spirits and energy! 1 mrsto reacted to this

I am sure alot of us have this fear in the beginning. As long as you stick to your docs plan, follow the rules, and believe you can do this....then you will. I promise! cheryl2586 3,053 Posted April 5, 2013 The tiredness will go once you start eating Protein. That is also a sign you will know when you are not getting enough.
