Yes-yes-yes!! I was always the hot one and now I can't get warm enough. I am driving my husband crazy. I have the car hot and he has no jacket on. I am in Boston, you still need to wear one. I wear a jacket (sometimes a fur), a scarf, gloves and still freeze. When I sleep, I sweat. I don't get it. My room is 64 with a window opened all winter even with blizzards

Maybe we are losing our fat insulation.

Keep warm.

I get cold too I think less fat is a cause but I believe I read somewhere that low carbs in the diet can do this too zx

I am cold a lot now, too. I have a fleece blanket that I use as a cocoon at night and sleep with my comforter on top of that. I am not tolerating cold well! It looks like next week's temps will be great here in NC!

Same here...always chilly now. This has been such a long cold winter here in NH. I am ready for 90+ temps.

I'm cold all of the time too. I'm in South Florida, so I can't go much further south and still stay in the US.

I freeze now as well. Especially at night and mostly my feet. I have an electric blanket, but it takes a long time to get warm. I call my feet my popsi-toes lol

After my wife had the surgery she said she was always cold, even more than her "normal" level of being cold. I thought she was flippin crazy!

I have always been a very warm natured person. Wearing shorts all the time if it was 40 degrees or higher out. Now that I have had the surgery, it's ridiculous. If the temp in the house gets below 74 degrees I can't take it. The other day I was at work (non-climate controlled hangar) it was like 60 degrees outside and in the low 70's in. My nose felt like it was going to fall off!! My nose, fingers, and feet all suffer now.

I do attribute it to the low/no carb diet and lower calorie intake. I remember eating me of those huge meals before having the surgery, as soon as I started digestion I felt like I was a furnace! Sometimes I even got a sweat out of it. Now I compensate by drinking hot tea, broth, or coffee.

Good socks can be your best friend... Lol

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
