Stuck & Unfill

Recommended Posts

So, my dumbass self just had a fill Tuesday, had great results since my March fill (lost 9lbs in 3weeks). So today I decide to juice for b/fast orange, apple, carrot, and a few strawberries... I have done this before and have had NO problems, none! Yeah well 3 sips in, BAM! STUCK like I have never been stuck before - was pb'ing, sliming, throwing up, u name it for a good 4 hours. Its Juice, ok. so I go to my Dr, & my nurse yells at me <lol> too much Fiber, too much in the orange, too close to the last fill... now she took Fluid out & im instructed to s ay on liquids for 2-3 days, but NO juiced drinks Blah! Mind you, I have about 10 oranges up for grabs, anyone want em? lol Has anyone had a problem like this before?

Thanks for the heads up. I'm one week out of surgery and I was going to drink some fresh fruit juice. My niece has juicer, and she just spent 4 hours juicing up fruits and veggies. I will be careful after reading your post. Thanks for sharing.

Sorry to hear that you got sick. When I have a fill my doctor has me on liquids (protein shakes) for 3 days, then mushies for 3 days and then back to my regular diet. He feels the band has to adjust to the new fill and your stomach needs to rest. I have never had any thing except for being stuck because I ate too fast or too much. They were my fault and I knew it before the stuck feeling.

Feel better.

Usually on my fill day, I'm told to eat mushies that day and the following up to dinner time, for dinner ok to start reg food. This is the 1st time since 2011 that I was put on liquids by the Dr. though.

Remember what you can see through! That is Clear Liquids, not heavy juice, sorry for the lecture! You can see through apple juice, not orange, banana, strawberry. In fact, there are few juices that you can see through, maybe cherry. Sorry for your pain, and unfill. Karen

I never had a prob before, my dr encourages juicing bc we don't get enough veggies & fruits in our (little) diet lol. Just have to remember to hold off juicing so close to a fill. I love love juicing. But I will never ever make this mistake again... Ever

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
