So I was just wondering how often other people with the band typically weigh themselves?

Like CG says, whatever works for you.

I weigh myself first thing every morning. If the scale doesn't move, I don't let it bother me. I know I'm doing the plan.

Some ppl go ballistic if their weight doesn't change or they gain a little. They need to stay off the scale.< /p>

Its what you can handle.

I ballooned up to 251 for many reasons but one was because I didn't know or guage how out of control it was really getting. I didn't know because I never stepped on the scale. I won't ever balloon out of control again without knowing and seeing it. For me, I step on the scale every morning. It doesn't consume me but I need to know what is going on with myself. It's accountability for me.

Good luck on your journey!

I weigh every morning. I don't worry unless I have more than a 3lbs gain that doesn't go down in a day or two.

Twice a day...out of habit.....first thing in the morning, and later at the gym.....I don't know why...I can predict what it would be...guess I'm more afraid it will change significantly...

But for 2 years it has been holding steady with the same 5 lb fluctuation up and down....

me too...daily and I for one shouldnt because I focus too much on the number on the scale. It does fluctuate up and down 4 lbs or so which bothers me but in the same sense I know where I am at. When I do gain and it stays on...It makes me look at what I have been doing etc and think...then I have to kick it in the ass to get back to my lowest lb..and try losing from there again. It is a slow process but am going to try and stay the course. Im hoping for 2 years to have lost that 100 lbs if possible...that should hopefully be do-able! :)

I check my weight every morning. I kept a weekly journal and record my weight on Monday's. This help me keep control of my weight. If I don't see lost, I know I have to change things up.

I am an extremist and weigh myself twice every day. Once in the am and once in the evening. This also helps me gauge how I handle certain foods as I track all my food too! Had I been this diligent all along I would have never been 300+ lbs. you have to do what works for you and when it works for you. Had a done this on other diets the slightest fluctuation would have sent me on a downward spiral. But now that it's a lifestyle change I am more just curious how much I fluctuate on a given day and what my food choices were on that day. Good luck to you

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
