I'm kinda new to sticks and definitely to vomiting with the band.

I had a stick tonight, coughed and some of it just came right up. Walked around and did jumping jacks to move the rest of it. Usually I can drink tea, but I threw that up too, and then dry heaved a little.

I'm scared, and just want to know if anyone else has had a similar experience? Has my band slipped because the tea came up, or did I drink too soon after the stick, (like ten minutes).

I have stuck episodes often. Don't panic, it happens. Don't try to throw up or you can cause a slip. Most stuck episodes last 30-50 minutes for me. I don't try to drink anything as that only exacerbates the problem for me. I get a lot of pressure right under my sternum. Like a soft golfball. I can feel when it passes and I take sip of Water to make sure all is OK.

I'll usually stop eating and drink cold liquids to help to reduce any swelling. I'll also eat slider foods for the next 12 hours to make sure I didn't do any damage.

Very normal. Sounds like you had a PB (productive burp) and yes, after getting stuck your esophagus can be aggreviated for awhile.

You might have to stick with liquids for a day, go slow.

My Dr said not to drink with a stuck and you just proved why.

Don't worry, I've done it a few times.
