LadyOphelia1988 21 Posted April 3, 2013 I am 7 days (not using weeks yet...LOL) post-op and I still have some rumbling of gas. I have a 4 oz Meal Replacement three times a day and inbetween I've found sugar free popsicles and some sugar free Jello. I take my Omeperzole and my Lexapro on a daily basis. I am able to expell the gas, but I have never had gas like this before surgery. Help! Any ideas? Linda

hely88 883 Posted April 3, 2013 Best advice I can give you is to move as much as possible and take gas x. Walk walk walk and then if you can walk some more. Even now 4 years out I get bad gas pains sometimes and this is what I still do. Hope you feel better.
LadyOphelia1988 21 Posted April 3, 2013 Thank you all!! At least I know it's "normal" so I won't worry too much. I will remember the GasX and keep moving.
Debbie3sons 1,936 Posted April 3, 2013 I am not sure if it does either I was banded in Sept. and I still have gas it seemes everytime I eat or drink anything so I just warn people and say the band is just letting the air out lol so everybody around me is used to it , so I don't know if it ever goes away but I had Alot the first 2 months because of thm pumping the air in my stomache when my surgeon did the surgery, so I think we all deal with it in diffrent ways , I am just glad there is no more heartburn or gerd I still have IBS not as bad as I used to though , I was living on Imodium AD now I only have to take them when I get Really stressed. Spaness2012 609 Posted April 3, 2013 It did get much better for me after about 5 weeks or so but every once in awhile....I will still get some trapped gas in my shoulder (I never had that before). So there is some adjustment. A heating pad works it out usually...but sometimes it can last several days. Feel better. 1 hely88 reacted to this
