nicolelmartinez 52 Posted March 31, 2013 Got very excited today because I'm 6 days post op and the nurse said I could have scrambled eggs. Cooked 3(my mind is obviously bigger than my stomach). Took like 5 bites and I was full! Love my lap band! 2 buckeyegirl4 and 2muchfun reacted to this

Rojasanoll 920 Posted March 31, 2013 For some this is very true. You have to introduce some of the foods you were accustomed to eating prior to surgery, just watch your portions. The band truly works but making the proper choices is the only way. As you get closer to your green zone make sure you chew your food all the way before swallowing. As the restriction of the band tightens, a "stuck" with food is very possible, and chewing your food and eating smaller bites almost eliminates this bad feeling. Suzzie81498 78 Posted March 31, 2013 Lucky you! My doc said liquids for 14 days post op...then mushys/softs for 2 weeks..and then food! Im at the point now where Im looking at things and trying to figure out how I can get it thru a straw! LOL
mrsto 2,925 Posted March 31, 2013 I can't WAIT to have an egg! What I'm really craving is some cottage cheese. I can have both on Thursday. But I can totally see myself cooking up a couple of eggs, and putting them on a plate with a scoop of cottage cheese. I'm guessing, I'll either be able to eat one egg, or 1/4 cup of CC. I'm so nervous about going too fast or eating too much, because I don't want to feel the negative effects of the band.

Im at the point now where Im looking at things and trying to figure out how I can get it thru a straw! LOL My program also starts with liquids for 14 days. But they're very specific about what the liquids are. I wanted to blend a banana into my Protein shake, and was told, no, that my stomach isn't ready for that at this stage. I wanted to blend the cooked veges into the Soup, but again, no.....not ready. All of this "homogenous" liquid is really disgusting.....I don't even want to eat. Cream Soups make me want to gag, and Thursday can't come fast enough!
Suzzie81498 78 Posted March 31, 2013 I asked to have plan emailed to me..and very first line on page is...IF YOU CANT DRINK IT THROUGH A STRAW- DONT EAT IT...lol Yesterday I was caught in a situation where I had no choice but to eat chili. Thank goodness it was very ground up and I got more "soup" than bean/hamburger...but man I was so freaked out! I chewed and chewed and chewed some more! I was fine- but am ready for actual food instead of liquids. I feel like im eating unhealthy food by only being able to "drink" or eat popsicles!

Some of these Protein shakes would be great with a burger and fries - LOL! But day in and day out of nothing but, is nauseating. But I'm told that it's necessary to slowly add back foods, after the "assault" to our gastric system. My doctors plan is so specific about what gets added back, and when. I'm telling ya - that smooth/mushy food is going to look like a feast! I'm anxious to see what it's like to start the new way of eating; bite size, chewing, etc. Sounds like you got a good taste of it yesterday (no pun intended). Chili sounds pretty damn good right now!!!
CHEZNOEL 4,061 Posted March 31, 2013 Even scramble eggs get chewed. One is enough for me! Enjoy introducing real foods back into your diet, but take it slow and don't forget to chew it mush. Keep your fluids up as well. Doing good... Keep it up! 2 TEAM SASHA PINK and mrsto reacted to this
