Egg salad is one of my most fav foods, actually. I use real mayo tho (only Best Foods!), not the lite stuff. And yes, it's on the mushy list, along with tuna and chicken salad.< /p>

You should also have a list of what you can eat from your doctor. If you do not you probably want to get one asap.Congrats and best of luck!

I did get a list I was told no hard boiled eggs so I wasn't sure if I cut them up good and made it into egg salad if that would be ok. Anyone have good ideas they used for the mushy diet weeks.

tuna salad, flaky fish, scrambled eggs whisked with skim milk, canned chicken, Beans, bean chilli, refried beans, egg salad I use a potato masher on eggs. Ricotta or cottage cheese with some beans and marinara sauce. Some people use the blender (I don't ). Let us know what things you discover work for you. Congrats again!

I was confused also when I first started puree because the word to me sounded like jarred baby food. Actually I explain it more like anything that you can mash with a fork, or really don't have to chew before you swallow, so yes, I also eat A LOT of tuna, chicken, and egg salad. Just kinda mash the eggs with a fork when you are mixing it and use lite mayo or greek yogurt. My other staple is I keep lots of cans of Campbell's Soups on hand, drain the Water, and make a mash with that since it is already cooked and soft. Good luck =0)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
