MzChar 19 Posted March 28, 2013 Today I had my first post op Dr's Appointment Where I was told that I only lost 1 pound which according to my scale I lost a total of three I know everyone is different is this normal because I was told that I was supposed between 7 to 10 pounds ... I did everything according to my doctors orders Pertaining to my diet nothing but Protein Shakes broth Jell-O which is nasty and Water and Plain tea with no sugar... Has anyone else had this experience ? Or has my body just plateaued ? One part of me feels very disappointed while the other part of me feels I still accomplished something by losing the 3 pounds I did lose.. I just wish sometimes that theseDrs. and Nurses can be more understanding about what we're going through as overweight individuals.... Sorry for ranting I just had to let lose somewhere . ???‘ Char doing things on her iPad ✨
donna12 742 Posted March 28, 2013 that's very normal. Some even gain during healing, take it easy and let your body heal. Continue with your dr's orders on your diet. Once you get on solids and you are able to exercise you will notice the weight loss. I promise.
Rojasanoll 920 Posted March 28, 2013 After the sweeling and recovery continues, you will then start losing weight. 1 ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this

☠carolinagirl☠ 18,721 Posted March 28, 2013 when i was leader in a weight loss support group, i had the members bring in their scale. yes i did for real. i got on 10 different scales and had at least 7 or 8 different numbers. the scales vary as does the weight. just because theirs showed one number yours showed another, does not mean you did not do well...you are still very early after surgery......just keep doing what you are doing as it will show (maybe not by numbers lost yet) but by inches and you beginning to feel better. rojo was and is right.....the first 4-6 weeks your body is recovering from major surgery and you are swollen and if you remain patient, you will wake up to a big number loss (but i bet your inches loss is going fantastic) and if you are losing inches, you are losing weight. ps: who can say what whom is suppose to lose. we are all different with different body types/things going on. you lose like you are suppose too. dont worry about anything else. doing good to me you are. 5 Tezzie Pooh, kileybug34, Terry Poperszky and 2 others reacted to this

Spaness2012 609 Posted March 28, 2013 I am sorry you didn't feel supported by your doctors office. I agree with the above. This is the time for healing and weight loss won't happen until later. And for me...that is "slowly". Be good to yourself and keep doing what your doing.

New Nina 40 Posted March 29, 2013 Sometimes patience is more difficult than the procedure. Be kind to yourself. The loss will happen.
Lose100 178 Posted March 29, 2013 Any weight loss is a great accomplishment. Please don't rush it. Your body needs time to heal. You are on your way. I was feeling the some way 6 months post op. But I had to remember that I didn't gain the weight over night, so I can't expect to lose it overnight. Since all bodies are different, we lose weight differently. I had to stop comparing my weight lost to everyone else's lost. You had this surgery because you want to lose weight and you WILL. April 3 is my 1 year Banniversary. One thing the Lap band as taught me is PATIENCE. Hang in there, it does get better. 1 meachie reacted to this
