JanetC 2 Posted April 24, 2006 Maybe yogurt? Or fruit? Breakfast buffets normally have good fruit... or oatmeal. Love me some oatmeal! Pack some Protein Bars for "just in case". Vacation in Mexico sounds lovely!!
Jachut 487 Posted April 24, 2006 Those are good suggestions. I can eat bread and all cereals so often do toast or Cereal, I'm just too afraid of the cholesterol to eat multiple eggs daily, a couple a week is all I eat, if that. I dont like em much anyway. Yogurt is nice for breakie, I often have a carton as I dont feel very hungry in the mornings and its not too filling. Or I might slice up an apple and eat that while I'm making the kids lunches, so fruit in any form is good too. Of course my very regular breakfast of 2 or 3 cups of coffee is probably not to be recommended.
piercedqt78 658 Posted April 24, 2006 I do yogurt or oatmeal. I am pretty tight in the morning and "real food" is usually not an option. I have managed a turkey sausage link here and there but that's not too often. We just returned from Disney and I took Protein Shake mix with me and ordered a skim milk and had a shake. I have also discovered that egg salad works well but is high fat and cholestrol, so I try to avoid it. I have also eaten grits, and the occasional turkey or chicken salad with wheat crackers. Also most places have a "diet plate" usually half a cantalope filled with cottage cheese. Last time I was in Mexico I lived on fruit smoothies and that was preband. ~Mandy
jucyc 0 Posted April 24, 2006 thanks everyone. I love breakfast but only like on vaction, most time 2 cups coffee is all i have then maybe mid morn. have Protein Shake. Since love breakfast on trips just was wondering. It will be the only time, i will let myself do things that i don't do very often. Marimaru 7 Posted April 24, 2006 eggs are bad on alot of people. I think you'll find alot of good breakfast options in Mexico. And if all else fails, they always have refried Beans available (they serve them with the eggs anyway, lol). Have a great time!
Teresita 0 Posted April 24, 2006 Take some can slimfast and put them in your fridge or cheesesticks. If you are tight in the morning have some juice, maybe a sausage. Keep some nuts in your purse for a little later. Great idea Sarah, refried Beans w/cheese and sour cream...a mushy staple.
jucyc 0 Posted April 24, 2006 hate to sound awful but what about pancakes. Have not cheated once since feb. and really don't plan on being real bad on vac. but there are few things like to let myself have. Worried about band because big family vac. and would love not to worry about getting sick. Everyone going in-laws you name them whole bunch
Teresita 0 Posted April 24, 2006 If I were you I would try a pancake at home before going out of town to do it. Take small bites and wait to see if it just sits there. :phanvan I thought you were tight in the morning that is why you were looking for foods for breakfast. LOL:D
jucyc 0 Posted April 24, 2006 thanks that is what i thought i would do but hard to know because some days great after this last fill and other days not
Sunta 5 Posted April 24, 2006 Here's a great breakfast: Take cottage cheese and mix with cinnamon and splenda to taste, then put it on top of toast and eat. YUMMMMM!
Dragonwillow 0 Posted April 25, 2006 My standard breakfast is yogurt these days....but occassionaly skip that in favor of a skim sugar free latte. LOL Some days I have morning star veggie bacon...not sure how long it keeps though once cooked. I sometimes cook it and pack for lunch. It's crisp when cooked in the micowave and generally crisp is no problem. Protien shakes is another good idea. You could always pour them over ice if you don't have a way to keep them cold. I'm going on a cruise in June and already I'm thinking about what I'm going to eat. I'm not sure if its smart planning or just my obbsessiveness! LOL
legallyKristin 0 Posted April 25, 2006 Dragnowillow- I LOVE the morningstar "bacon"! My fiance is a vegetarian, and I LOVE meat... but I really like this stuff with a little sugar free honey. And if I'm in a hurry for breakfast, I grab one of the sugar free Instant Breakfast packs. Kristin
maryb 1 Posted April 25, 2006 My morning ritual is Atkins shake when I first get up, then 30 minutes later I have Weight Control Oatmeal. (I love me some oatmeal!)
Chunk 0 Posted April 25, 2006 You should not be able to eat breakfast in the morning. If your band is as tight as it should be, you shouldn't be able to eat until about noon. In the morning I have a Protein Shake and that's about all I can get down. If you are currently able to eat breakfast I would suggest seeing your surgeon about a fill.
