How can you tell if your band has slipped! I go in two weeks for my first fill. What if my band has slipped in that amount of time?

Well, I don't have a really good reason for thinking I do. Just worried that it "might" happen. I'm a little on the paranoid side.

Ok, thanks for the feed back! I just thought it was easy for it to slip and I didn't want it to! But I guess it is hard to get it to slip. Thanks again

Only a very small percentage of people have a slip. Usually due to forceful vomiting, doesn't typically happen for no reason.

Mine slipped after 2 1/2 yrs of frequent vomiting. The only symptom I had was severe nightime reflux. No abdominal pain, vomting, nothing but the reflux. They're right, they aren't common. But I would advise you NOT to vomit.

Im 5 years post op. Last year my band slipped in late July. For about 4 months I was having issues with keeping food down and sharp pains. Then the band decided to totally slip. Sucked! But now im 7 months (2nd time) post op and everyday is different on what I feel like.

You will know if its slipping. Very rare, but it does happen.

No, mine didnt slip because of vomitting. They still dont have an answer as to why it happened.

Mine slipped after eight months and only two instances of vomiting. My surgeon was extremely surprised that it had slipped. He said I was the earliest slip they'd ever had in their practice. I don't think he believed me when I told him I had only vomited twice. My advice: Do everything you can to avoid vomiting! But don't confuse regurgitation with vomiting. Reguritation is more of a burp that brings up recently eaten food; vomiting is a forceful expulsion from your stomach.
