I'm very confused. You have only just been banded, when did you find out you were pregnant? Generally surgery won't go ahead if you are pregnant.

Are you pregnant now? Because the standard wait time is 18 months to 2 years before you should plan to get pregnant after ANY bariatric procedure. Otherwise you may have complications related to the restricted diet/nutrition required. Since you shouldn't be taking any estrogen based birthcontrol due to clotting risks for the first 4-6 weeks postop you will need to use secure forms of birthcontrol because weightloss will increase your fertility. No doctor should install this on someone who is pregnant.

I think we misunderstood you. I think you were saying, you're glad you can still get pregnant with a lapband, right? Not that you are pregnant.

I hope that you are saying you are happy that you can have more children someday. You should not have a pregnancy too soon after lapband, but that does not prevent you from the sex part. Just use good judgement on birth control. If BF wants kids, then tell him to marry their mother. Kids need a mother and a father in a stable family unit. IMHO

Also... fill out your profile so we can tell if you have been banded or not and when. If you are not yet banded and want more children, do that first, then look into band surgery in a couple of years.
