nicolelmartinez 52 Posted March 23, 2013 My surgery is 3 days away and I've had a low grade fever for three days. So scared they are going to cancel my surgery! I have planned for this so much. I think it's the stress and anxiety causing the fever. Is that possible?

nicolelmartinez 52 Posted March 23, 2013 Call my surgery doc or regular doc?
DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! 12,703 Posted March 23, 2013 Stress can't cause a fever. A fever is the body's natural reaction to virus or illness. Call your surgeon and let him know. Even if he does reschedule your surgery it's a good thing. Getting surgery with an infection or illness can be extremely dangerous. 2 ☠carolinagirl☠ and aeromech reacted to this

CHEZNOEL 4,061 Posted March 23, 2013 Good... at least you can stop worrying about it! They will likely give you antibiotics during or after surgery. 2 aeromech and ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
aeromech 202 Posted March 23, 2013 Called my doc they said not to worry too much if its low grade. I was given antibiotics via IV during the surgery. It's kind of a good thing this happened, just for the fact that you need to be willing to call your doctor about anything. They are there to help you through your journey. Don't be afraid to call them. 1 ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
