mrshuey 0 Posted March 23, 2013 Ive had my band for three years now and had esophogeal dilation after the first year. but taking out all the Saline corrected the problem. I managed to lose the weight slowly without any more fills. Now im having strange sensations and cramping above my port, and I can feel the tube through my skin. It feels like its twisting around pulling on my muscles. It's hard to describe! wondering if anyone else had these symptoms and what is it? I'm calling the doc on Monday.... mrshuey 0 Posted March 23, 2013 Just to clarify, the port itself isn't bothering me, it's definitely the tube above it...
simplyGoOn 4 Posted March 23, 2013 How are you feeling so far!! I personally got the my band removed March 2012..
mrshuey 0 Posted March 23, 2013 I feel fine. Occasional mild acid reflux but rarely. Not like the first year, it was horrible. But now this strange feeling where the tube is... I've lost the weight and kept it off without a fill in the last two years, and would really like to get the band removed. But I don't have insurance, or $$$ to cover it. Spaness2012 609 Posted March 23, 2013 Let us know what the doc says. It could be that your weight loss is allowing the tube to shift. Try not to panic until you speak to your doc. Was the esophagus issue due to being too tight?
mrshuey 0 Posted March 23, 2013 Yes, the band was too tight even though I never got it fully filled. I spent the first year struggling to eat solid foods and vomited after nearly every meal because it was painfully stuck. Even after the smallest fill. After getting esophageal dilation I decided to not get any more fills after that. It scared me because I would wake up choking every night on acid reflux. I was afraid I would aspirate and die! I'm happy to say I've still achieved weight loss without all that hassle. But after reading posts in this forum I'm afraid maybe the tube has disconnected recently. I'm panicking, but you're right I haven't even seen the doc yet, so I need to calm down.

Newdays41 0 Posted April 7, 2013 My tubing has a kink in it. I kept feeling something sticking me from the inside and told my dr. He sent me for a CT scan and it showe a kink. I have already had to have my port fixed 2x from it flipping. My tubing has been trying to come through my abdomin. I had a bump in the middle of my upper abdomin saw regular doc and gastro and they kept saying "we"ll keep an eye on it". Lap band doc said he thought it was some kind of cyst under my skin. He was gonna cut it out but sent me for a CT and ultrasound then called to tell me "we'd have had a mess on our hands if I had cut into that". I can't bend back because my abdomin feels tight like something's pulling or catching. Having extreme amounts of gas and not fully emptying when having bowel movements in past two months. No throwing up, no reflux, mild pain. Doc says its the tubing. I'm freaking out a bit. Going in for surgery on Friday.
B-52 7,113 Posted April 8, 2013 I think it was my last fill... The Dr. always starts by extracting ALL the Fluid to measure, check for clarity, etc.... This one time, he was unable to pull the syringe back, My tube had a kink in it, just like a kink in a garden hose...pulling back on the syringe only made the kink tighter.... Fortunately, my pot is right under my skin (no belly fat) on top of the muscle, and you can see the port AND the tubing...you can see the kink.... So, between the both of us, one pulled gently on the syringe and the other massage the tubing to straighten it out. Never had a problem since and that was 2 years ago.... But the tubing can kink....
