Loosing it for Life 0 Posted July 30, 2010 I honestly don't think it can be done. I'm one week out and am just now trying to focus on healing my stomach... it hurts and is swollen so hopefully I'm doing the right thing. I find everything so filling (even liquids). Let me know how it's working out for you now. costco has great Kirkland brand Protein shakes, 30g Protein, 5g Fat & 3g Carbs. chocolate, warm or cold is great. Good luck. GreenBean2012 0 Posted July 30, 2010 Thanks Leah - you too! Things are improving on the eating front. However, I think I still have lots to learn about size of bites and speed of eating. My band hurts so I think I'm eating too much too fast. Am terrified that I'm going to "break it"!

bigtom1948 8 Posted January 31, 2011 DH made me this Soup today and you have to try this to believe it! Sometimes, you just need something that tastes amazing. Savory Hubbard Squash Soup Preheat oven to 350. Peel, seed and cube a medium hubbard squash. This yields approximately 1.25 pounds of raw squash. Spray with olive oil pam and bake on a cookie sheet 35-40 minutes. Place cooked squash into a soup pot, along with: 5 cups of chicken broth (home made is great but not necessary) 4 cups of Water 1 tsp of Garam Masala spice (if you don't have this, go get some right now - it's in the spice section of your store) 4 sprigs of fresh rosemary tied together or 1 tsp dried 1 onion chopped fine (or 2 Tbsp minced dried onion) Simmer the above for 35-40 minutes. Blend in batches until smooth. Place mixture back on stove at a simmer for about 15 minutes, until thick. Optional: May add 2tbsp fat free half and half to each cup of soup, adding 20 cals per cup. Yield: 6 cups Nutritionals (per cup): Cals: 102 Fat: 1.8 Carbs 17.6 Protein 6 It's not a nutritional powerhouse but it's a gastronomical masterpiece! I like this recipe but you don't have to buy Garam Masala you probably have all the ingrediants for it in your spice rack already. Here's the recipe for it: 1 ½ tsp cumin powder 1 tsp coriander powder ½ tsp cinnamon powder ½ tsp nutmeg powder ½ tsp red chili powder (may use cayenne), adjust for level of spiciness)
dcowens 2 Posted February 1, 2011 I had tons of leftover baby oatmeal so I decided to use them for myself in the morning. I pour as much of the oatmeal as I want into a bowl and add Water to thicken (you can also add milk) I throw in a little butter, cinnamon and a dash of vanilla. It's delicious. =)

themons 0 Posted March 13, 2011 Wow, you bandsters are amazing with your recipes. I'm getting dressed and heading to the market NOW! Can't stand the Protein Shakes. To me, they SUCK. And, your recipes are music to my ears. They stressed at our meetings before surgery, no substitutes, you must drink the shakes. Did no one else get these instructions???
