kmefaith 0 Posted December 3, 2007 Hello, I am curious, I have not been banded yet. Did anyone try the liquids before banding? I would like to get a head start on my weight loss.
kmefaith 0 Posted December 3, 2007 You said you are hungry all the time? I thought the lap band would help with the hunger issue. This concerns me.
sweetpea51 3 Posted December 3, 2007 kmefaith - Doing the liquid diet before the surgery is probably a good idea. It will help you get used to it after the surgery but you may be hungry since the reason people are not hungry right after the surgery is because the stomach is swollen and healing so you really can't eat much. kmefaith 0 Posted December 4, 2007 Thanks SweetPea, do you have a copy of what the liquid diet contains by chance?

cmeyer11 0 Posted December 5, 2007 Thanks for the help and recipes. I was banded 6 days ago, not at all hungry. Can anyone explain why? Thanks cmeyer11

sweetpea51 3 Posted December 5, 2007 kmefaith - the liquid diet is at first only clear fluids like broth, apple juice ( i mixed it with Water, less calories that way ) Jello, etc. - anything that has no chunks or isn't too thick. the next step would be more creamy things like cream Soups, pudding, yogurt, etc. there really isn't much to eat on the clear liquids but as I said after surgery I really didn't feel like eating much anyway. go to the food section and you'll find some more clear liquid ideas. jewelee 0 Posted December 23, 2007 I made a yummy Breakfast this morning. My dr considers cream of wheat to be liquid, so I made some plain cream of wheat with milk and some sugar free Torani Syrup to give it some flavor. Then I put half a scoop of vanilla Unjury in it. I actually can't taste the Protein. It tastes like strawberries and cream, very good! This will be my breakfast for the next few days! I'm counting about 15 Proteins in it too. ladytuscanny 0 Posted January 19, 2008 I'm so glad to have found this information about the second stage of liquids. I bought a bunch of shakes that are 100% soy, but they are too sweet for me. I like savory better. I just made Soup with seasoned tofu, duck egg, organic soy sauce, Mrs. Dash garlic/herb seasoning and ran it through a blender. It was delisious, not hungry anymore either! Thank you all. Fran
yoyo07 0 Posted January 21, 2008 Hi I just had surgey a week ago and I am on the liquid diet what are some of the things that are good for breakfast? I am tired of the same old broth, Soup and Jello
ladytuscanny 0 Posted January 21, 2008 my guidelines says cream of wheat thinned down. it is a nice change. Add some Protein powder and seasonings and it takes on a life of its own. I'm not a big time sweet eater, so I season with Mrs. Dash, sesame oil, blended tofu to make cream Soups. I read through all the pages of this link and it gave excellent ideas. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f9/lapband-food-stages-lists-suggestions-3995/ I am on day 7 of liquid and can't wait until i'm on pureed foods. I will measure and count everything, but want to go back to real foods. ** Sigh**
