Kat817 19 Posted November 11, 2006 You might want to try something warm, sometimes that seems more filling to me. I drank warm broth, and warm Decaf, flavored teas. The first weeks following banding are difficult for most of us it seems. It is hard not having food. But it is VERY important to follow your Dr.'s orders, and allow yourself to heal. Get some different flavored broths, some ice pops (SF), juices (watch the sugar content), several different flavors, and just cautiously drink them, and hang in there. It will pass...while it seems it is lasting forever, soon it will all be behind you, and you will be thrilled, as you will likely lose weight quite well during this stage...although not all do. When you feel like you can't do it any longer pop in here, and get some support!!! We are all here, either in the same boat, headed that way, or remember being there!!! I too tried the frappucino recipe...mmm, I love anything toffee or caramel! I began freezing DH's left over coffee. And rather than brew a special pot of strong coffee, and then adding plain ice cubes, I just added more of the regular strength ones. He likes them too!!! No more pouring out the left over coffee he doesn't drink in the morning!!! Kat

littlemissyoyo 0 Posted February 8, 2007 where do you get this stevia sweetner... i already do decaff coffeee and tea but man i need a tiny bit of sweet in my coffeee!!!
Betsyjane 2 Posted February 8, 2007 My regular grocery store has it both in the seasonings/sugar section and in the health foods. Health food stores have it too. Nice, in that it's natural powdered stevia leaves, and it's the only sweetener I know of that doesn't raise your blood sugar. It's also SUPER sweet, so you use very little. lizrbit 0 Posted February 8, 2007 OH MY GOD i thought this would be easier. For some reason because I KNOW i have a hard time fasting...period...i am completely obsessed with this today. I started the liquid diet today and im ferociously hungry. Im okay so far. Thank god for cup o soup! but i know i cant just drink envelope after envelope of the stuff. Im sleepy. I take Multivitamins and other supplements. I think, that if it doesnt get better, im just going to take a nap! Can i even have Soup for dinner tonight? i found this stuff that is low calorie andlow carb/high protien... (like 180 cal per serving and its in individual serving pouches) please tell me this gets easier. They are telling me i will either be in surgery on the 13 (less than a week) OR the 27 (twenty days from now) eegads. help!:help:
Betsyjane 2 Posted February 8, 2007 I feel for you. I didn't have to go through anything you list with your signature. I don't know what you can eat, but the Better Than Boullion Soup base feel pretty hearty going down. Can you do Protein shakes too? Muscle Milk Light tastes like REAL milk chocolate. marshallmg 0 Posted February 11, 2007 My nutritionist said that I could have milk with my post-op diet, so I've been drinking skim milk with protien powder and either Sugar Free Chocolate Syrup or half a banana and a spoonful of Peanut Butter. I keep trying to fool myself that it tastes good, but it doesn't. I can't make anything with Protein Powder that I like. My sister brought over some broth today from some onion Soup that she made and it tasted great! I also cook a can of vegtable beef soup and strain it, drinking the broth. It tastes a lot better than the plain canned broth. Mary
