Oh no @@Susysleever it is one of those things that's hard to diagnose because other Neuro diseases can display the same symptoms. Did you have a spinal tap to have them test your spinal Fluid? That was the final determining test for me!! I am always tired and weak but the weight loss has helped my energy level immensely. Sorry to hear about your vision and night driving problems that sucks badly.. Hopefully once you’re diagnosed and start treatment therapy you will notice differences. #prayers

Thank you journey. No spinal tap yet. In 2007 I had ekg, eeg. Maybe something else but I don't remember. Huey sent to a Migraine specialist. He blamed me for drinking coffee. His NP screamed at me that I couldn't go on vacation. I did have a headache for 6months. I wasn't happy with dx so I went to see.Dewey. He said I didnt have Migraines. So now I am going to see Lewey next month. Suprise. Dewey joined Leweys group. This ought to be interesting. Oooo. Back in '07 Dewey is morbidly obese. And all his staff was too. Sort of like Wall-E.

My name is Lollie and I was diagnosed with MS in 1995. I am getting banded (hopefully) next month. My neuro doc is happy for me to get the surgery. Lugging around an extra 100 lbs is hurting my body. Just had knee surgery, have high blood pressure, high colesteral, and have sleep apnea. I am 51 and want my next 30 or so years to be healthy ones.

Hi there. I know that this is an old post, but maybe you're still around to see my response. I was diagnosed with MS in 2012 and just recently had lap band (10/8). My neurologist was in full support of the procedure. Since the healthy lifestyle helps keep your MS under control, the lap band is a definite good tool.

I'd be more than happy to discuss how I've handled my MS, and maybe you can share some of your experiece with the band.

Hope to hear from you.

Ashley

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
