I finally did it...my lil chunky self...I was banded 2/18/13...my first fill was on 3/18/13....I am down 34 pounds...I weighed my tuna yesterday and consumed 4oz it was all good..then later on I decided to have tuna again but time I just eyeballed it...uh oh...I overate and I am still freaking miserable today! When does this feeling pass? I decided to crank up the liquids today...Team Sasha needs a lil help...I have never thrown up since being banding...I just feel so miserably...uggggh...the band is no joke!

Do your band gives you a signal that it's getting full. I get the hiccups when I am full. At first I didn't realize hiccups was a sign until I started paying attention. I noticed that if I continued to eat after the hiccups, I was miserable. No after the first hiccup, I STOP.

Over full is an awful feeling, but you now you know to keep on measuring. As you progress you may find that you have to stop early, 4oz will be too much. Listen to your body. Usually you will get a soft stop signal, hiccup, runny nose, etc. When you do. STOP. Wait for at least 15 minutes and decide and I really still hungry. Very good call on going back to liquids for a bit, but sip small amounts. Remember it is a funnel effect, and you can back up on liquids too. Congrats on your success so far. Sounds like you are doing well and showing good judgement. Best wishes going forward!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
