MelodyJ 0 Posted April 23, 2006 I am taking a Walmart knock off of Flinstones--One Source Complete chewable....they suggest only 1/day for adults and children over 4ys. They do have Iron and lots of stuff!! I also have invested in fruit Plus..... I chew up "2fruits" in the morning and "2veggies" in the evening...suggested by a friend. I do feel great!! God Bless, Melody Banded 3/20/06 -37lbs

Poodles 0 Posted April 26, 2006 Does anyone with a band use the chewable wafers?
CCBSTX 0 Posted April 27, 2006 Newly banded I took Flintstone's chewable for about 2 months. I switched to a regular Multi-Vitamin pill and have no problems swallowing. However, if you are tight at some point you can divide them or go back to chewables for awhile. Shawn
3loves 0 Posted April 27, 2006 I compared Flinstones Complete with the Viativ Multi-Vitamin and the Flinstones win hands down!!! Not only is the Viativ missing the Iron that Tricia K. mentioned, but it also is missing 3 or 4 other things like magnesium, for example. I have contacted Viativ and told them I wanted to use their product after my WLS, but couldn't b/c of the missing iron. We'll see if they respond. They are missing out on a HUGE market by not including iron. Maybe there's a good reason. :bananadoggywow:

They're certainly losing out on some happy customers 'cause they taste soooo good. Anyway, I'm glad that I could help. :Banane20:
sarahv 0 Posted April 30, 2006 The one a days are good - I'm down almost 14lbs...The problem seems to be that once I get banded. They aren't a small pill - about average for a Multivitamin, but big compared to children's Vitamins.< /p>
S@ssen@ch 745 Posted April 30, 2006 pills, as long as they're no bigger than the size of a pencil eraser should go through just fine. As long as the pill is not extended release, you should be able to break it up or crush it. I prefer breaking them in half or thirds if necessary. Crushed pills taste yucky. :eekB: The only exception that I know of is potassium supplements like K-Dur or micro-K, these are not to be crushed. When in question, ask the pharmacist. Personally, I take a chocolate viactiv chew in the morning with a caramel viactiv Calcium chew. It's like a little treat every morning, especially if you hold them in your hand or pant pocket and let them get soft first. I think you can even get these in generic now. I've seen the Walmart brand, but haven't had the guts to try them. BTW, I haven't really felt any need to boost my B-Vitamins any more than what is provided in the multi-Vitamin (which have a direct effect on energy level). Once I started losing weight, I seemed to have an increase in stamina and energy. I see a lot of people going to the chewable childrens Vitamins. Somewhere along the line, I was told that those were a poor choice for adults. Go figure. :noidea: If they work, hey, go for it. Any experience I've had with liquids (including Tylenol liquid) has been poor. I just don't like the taste. :yuck: So if I can get it down by chewables or breaking the regulars up, that's what I'm gonna do.
3loves 0 Posted April 30, 2006 I found out Fri that my surgeon recommends the Flinstones Complete along with the Viactiv Calcuim.....just as was recommended here. Here's an e-mail in part that I rec'vd back from Viactiv regarding the missing Iron. Thought it was a nice response and interesting. The VIACTIV® Multi-Vitamin Soft Chew is intended to supplement a woman's diet with essential Vitamins. The mineral, Calcium, was added in a small amount because of its relationship to the VIACTIV® name. We are currently exploring new formulations that may include Iron and other nutrients in the future. We hope we have restored your faith in us. Jachut 487 Posted April 30, 2006 I've been shocking with this, I loathe taking Vitamin pills. I have a good dissolvable one and for the first few months took it religiously and for some reason just stopped, I'm now running 5kms or so a day and doing weights, I would definitely be needing a supplement, but am not taking it. I cant recommend ones though being in another country. But I find I like to drink them a lot better than I like to swallow them and have that horrible aftertaste. Really good orange flavor. They are Country Life Chewable Adult'S Multi that I bought off of vitaminshoppe.com
