port has moved and am in pain

Recommended Posts

This morning I noticed a horrible pain in my right upper side a certain way I moved...feeling the area, I felt a hard "spot" and at first thought maybe a hernia but I can't feel my port which should be below the hard spot I felt about 6 inches...so I guess my port has moved. I had a hard night last night with food being stuck and pbing...could this have caused it? I have had a hard time since day one with first bite pain. PLEASE, can anyone give info?

Can you contact your surgeon? He/she may want to see you right away since you are in such pain. Even though the office is closed, there is usually an answering service that will contact the Dr and have him/her call you. I would suggest doing that now.

Keep us posted ok? But not until you've taken care of yourself. *hugs*

Hi,

I'm sorry you're having som much pain and if you really think your port has come loose from the muscle and moved, I think you should go to your doctor. I doubt if it's an emergency but I don't think I'd wait very long to have it looked at - you don't want to get adhesions or some other complication. I don't know if PBing can cause your port to move but I suppose anything is possible.

Please keep us updated as to what's going on with you.
