Ibsweet1 8 Posted March 18, 2013 I had a feel last monday, I now have 5cc in my 10cc band, I can eat gravy or liquids slowly, other then that everything else makes me throw up....does this mean I am too tight? I am still learning and any help would be great!
2muchfun 8,927 Posted March 18, 2013 It depends on what "everything else" is? What food is getting stuck and are you throwing up or mildly regurgitating food from your esophogus(PBing)? Can you eat slider foods like Soup, chips, Cookies? You're probably a little too tight but this is the phase where you need to learn to eat slow, chew big and eat very small bites. It's one of the most difficult things to conquer with the band. tmf 2 DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! and ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
Ibsweet1 8 Posted March 18, 2013 I can eat some chips, but some make me throw up....the thicker the chip the more likely I am gonna throw up...soups I can eat, anything with any consistency I get sick...
luckyfive101 6 Posted March 18, 2013 I just had a fill myself (3 cc in a 10 cc band). I am able to eat most foods as long as i chew, chew, chew... EXCEPT for red meats and white breads... If I toast the bread, I can eat it pretty easily. It is a learning process... but you'll get there! I am 4 years out and lost most of my weight, but I still have about 30 pounds to go (haven't worried too much about that after where I have come from).. but I have made a recommitment to get the rest off now.. good thing about the band.. it is a tool always there to fall back on, and it has kept me from having to gain any of my weight back........ A GOD sent! Good luck! Hope to see LESS of you soon!
laurigee 545 Posted March 18, 2013 Eat slowly, take small bites, and chew..chew..chew! If you are doing all that right, and you still can't get anything to stay down your obviously too tight! If you can only eat crap your better off to get a little removed so you don't revert back to poor eating habits! Good luck and I hope you figure it out! DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! 12,703 Posted March 18, 2013 If you're taking tiny bites and chewing thoroughly but still throwing up, then you're likely too tight. Btw, if you mean actually vomiting (rather than PBing) then you're putting yourself at risk for a slip. Vomiting is never good with the band and should be avoided at all costs. Call your doctor. Let him help you decide if you're too tight or not. 1 catfish87 reacted to this
kileybug34 173 Posted March 18, 2013 Okay, I am wondering what does PBing mean? I am getting my first fill Wednesday and would like to know.
DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! 12,703 Posted March 18, 2013 Okay, I am wondering what does PBing mean? I am getting my first fill Wednesday and would like to know. PBing is Productive Burping. Sometimes when food is stuck, you will burp it back up. It's very different than vomiting because it doesn't involve retching or your stomach spasming. It's literally just gently burping the food back up.
kileybug34 173 Posted March 18, 2013 Okay. That helps a lot. Thanks. I know that I shouldn't throw up. I would hate to slip.
