Pain and fullness after eating very little

Recommended Posts

Been banded for 2 years haven't had a fill since April 2012. Lately I have been able to eat more well a little but more often than 3 meals a day but I've been getting pain in upper part of stomach to the left actually and feeling full just after a couple of mouthfuls and running to the bathroom and getting rid if most of it. I haven't been exactly text book and don't just stick to the recommended cup full of food I tend to eat til I'm full if I ever over indulge I bring it back up. That's how it's been up until now... Anyone else have this problem ? Weight loss has been slow and steady just under 6 stones in nearly 2 years. Have fluctuated between 3 to 4 pounds but stayed same weight for a few months and ideally would like to lose another stone and a half to get to goal. It's just now I appear to not be able to eat very much at all unless its Soup or chocolate slider foods I suppose.

I would definitely get into your doctor to have it checked. Not to worry you but you could have a slip. But the good part is, the sooner you catch it, the better chance of it being corrected without surgery.

Plus, being on slider foods isn't good for your weight loss either, in fact it could lead to gaining.

Best wishes to you. I'll be crossing my fingers everything is ok for you.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
