I'm going into my 7th year of being a "bandster. Most days I eat just over a cup of food and feel very satisfied.

I love the feeling when I eat now because I feel full but NEVER stuffed. I really find maintenance with the lapband very easy. I never feel like I'm missing out on certain foods with the band. I still get weighed in every month with my family doctor.

I try and stay around 1250-1260 calories a day, Then if I eat a bit over 1 cup on a meal I also have the calories, so I subtract from the 1250 total. I'm not fully restricted so far but I'm close.

Agree....But for me I can't say I have ever really felt full in the classic way........it is something else....I know many people here talk about being "Full" but it is really something different....

Hi everyone. I just got rebanded march 1st. I didn't get my 1st fill yet. But i am really curious. Does everyone really get full by just one cup of food? I don't have nothing in my band yet and I am still on mushy food but 1cup is just so little! I eat a regular portion size and if i feel hungry i wait till my next meal.

You shouldn't eat till you are full. The point of the band is for you to feel satisfied before full happens. That is why it is timed intervals between swallows and smaller amount of food compared to what we ate pre-surgery.

It will take a bit to really learn to listen to the band. It will tell you what is going on, but you have to pay attention.

I agree you should feel satisfied rather than full... that's want I met to say :)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
